Rawford--like his father and father's father and grandfather's father, on and on--was of middling height and corpulent width. Ginger curls fringed his neck and loose, fine clothes hid his rolls of flab as best they could. The sword at his hip was mostly for show, his mud-brown eyes more prone to tears than anger.

Character Background:

The Lord of Haksjell had passed in patrimony, consisting of two estates proper plus a private demesne and the noble title, from father to son since before anyone could remember. The lands were fertile enough to support the family's gastronomical habits quite well, situated as they were in the south-east of Dulfwyn. Rawford had earned his own title when his father had buggered off in one of Raegnold's battles, but the son knew well enough to keep out of the losing side of the war. Instead he came into his own, as it were, managing the estates and negotiating peace with the would-be King via correspondence. Now that the new order has come to pass, the young van Reinhardt has come by ostensibly to pay his respects to his new liege-lord, but might possibly have more sinister goals in mind...
