Character Background:

Gisela spent her life obeying; first her domineering peasant of a father, then her miserly merchant of a husband. A rare creature that managed to rise above her birth with a single kiss--from living in a dirty hovel to claiming a proper bed in a wealthy man's house. Even with more sumptuous surroundings, however, Gisela's lot was rarely any better...when she wasn't managing servants of her own, she was hauling merchandise or haggling with other merchants and their wives. At home she understood her role only too well, and took in material wealth what proper prostitutes took in coin, though at least her bedman never changed.

Until one day, that is; heading a train of wine for Valys's castle, the dark-haired woman caught the eye of a prominent general in Drysllthen's entourage. He convinced her to accompany him, got her drunk and took her to his own bed. She decided to reject her husband's name, and her father's before it, going only by the title her mother bestowed her.
