(Obviously I have to work a bit on the description, but I'm too lazy right now. >_>; )

Full Character Name: Hrafnkel Fargrim Baltar
Furcadia Name: Baltar
Desired Role: Scholar, mainly working with geography and cartography, and advisor
Gender: Male
Age: 37
Height: 6'1
Build: Lean
Eye Color: Dark brown
Hair Color: Dark brown

Description: Hrafnkel Fargrim Baltar – The oh-so-odd scholar of 37 years. Beautiful mahogany coloured hair was pulled back into a tie at the nape of his neck. Features were flawless; gorgeous mahogany eyes, high cheek-bones, thin lips constantly smirking and a nose with a slightly round tip. Small side-burns, despite the current age, and a newly shaved chin were also there. The form itself was lean, but not lanky, and the clothing he wore was of no particular interest: black trousers and equally coloured boots, and a black tunic with a black belt around.

Character Background: It’s interesting what a few favours can do, and how kindness can be rewarded in the oddest ways. For by the means of one kind act and one favour, a young boy went from being a poor peasant to become a noble scholar. For it was during the days of chaos that the old scholar Galen Baltar wandered about aimlessly in the forest of Tsgerl without food or water. Baltar had been caught in a storm on one of his trips where he went around the lands trying to make maps for the King, and it was by chance that he found a little cottage hidden away in the forest. Here he was fed by the poor peasants and offered a bed to sleep in. But when the storm passed the old scholar felt that he had wronged them by taking their food, for this family had once had seven children, but two had recently died from hunger and three were sick. The scholar felt that it was his responsibility to help the family in some way, and that was the way he ended up with the young Hrafnkel.

Hrafnkel was the youngest of the seven, only four years old when the scholar arrived. But his mother did not have enough food to feed them all, and she knew very well that the youngest were the weakest. Sadly, Hrafnkel would in later years not appreciate this kindness, but rather turn his back on his origins, believing that his mother had kicked him out because she detested him. This was of course not the case, but as she died only three years after passing Hrafnkel on to the scholar, he would never learn the truth.

The scholar took Hrafnkel with him, and brought him to the city Bath where he announced Hrafnkel to be his son. Amidst all the chaos no one reacted and from that day Hrafnkel was named Hrafnkel Fargrim Baltar, and all referred to him as Baltar’s son. When Baltar died they referred to him only as Baltar the Scholar. But before the old scholar died, who wasn’t all that old, around fifty when he adopted Hrafnkel, he passed on all his knowledge to Hrafnkel. Hrafnkel was first an apprentice of the scholar, and was surprisingly an excellent one; he studied hard, did remarkable precise drawings of the surrounding areas and appeared to absorb knowledge like a sponge. By the age of twenty Hrafnkel was given the title of a scholar, for the old man died, and Hrafnkel was to take his place.

The next few years were not spent so wisely, for despite being a wonderful student and a scholar, Hrafnkel had an extreme appetite for women and wine. For a period he was close to creating a scandal; but who cares about a scholar when situations were as tense as they were? So nothing was told of his escapades with married women. Still, all fun had to come to an end, and he was forced to marry one of the single women he had eloped with. The marriage was not such a terrible thing, for it gave Hrafnkel much time to work with his maps. But the marriage was short-lived, for his wife died in child labour, and so did the unfortunate child. Still, life went on; after all, someone had to draw those bastard maps.

Hrafnkel has never had any particular interest in politics; not then, not now, not ever. But because of his expertise on the geography of the lands, he was often asked to help the King or his Lords with creating routes and finding strategic spots to place different things. He never worried about what they wanted him to do; he was far too busy thinking about all the females around. But apparently these occasions where he helped the Royals, would seem to have some large consequences as the war finally ended. For Hrafnkel had chosen the wrong side, and his King had not come out as the winner, being a softie for some women Hrafnkel did not know. Or so was the impression he was given of the situation. But surprisingly he was offered a job in the new King’s Court as a scholar and an advisor. Hranfkel didn’t really mind: more wine and women for him, and perhaps he’d get a new sheet to draw a large map on. He did after all enjoy drawing maps.
