She was slender, yet her shoulders extended from long hours in a forge; her hips carrying a proper curve. Her clothing varied from day to day, but the colors remained the same, black, blues, browns and grays; dark colors befitting a thief. She was quick to sarcasm and slow to anger, but her eyes spoke volumes if one decided cross her. She was ruthless and quick.
Character Background: Victoria was born in the fifth year of the war in a town just out side of the capital. Her father was a well known smith Her mother took care of the house and finances. At a young age her brothers went off to fight in the Civil War, leaving the five year old and her mother to help her father at the forge and with the everyday chores.
Her mother constantly worried about the safety of her sons and about the war, causing her to introvert and become depressed. She became sick over time, growing worse with each passing week. Her husband took her to every healer he could afford, yet they could do nothing to save her; all they could do was ease her passage into the next life.
Victoria was angry at humanity, they could not save her mother who had fought so hard to keep everything together and well. She turned her anger into her studies, learning swordsmanship, smithing, culture, history, anything she could get her hands on. Her two main loves came to be sword fighting and forging, excelling in them more than anyone close to her age. At the age of nine she made her very own high quality saber, and her favorite daggers at an even younger age. She worked in the forge day after day, her training in the mornings and at night, practicing with her daggers while her household slept.
Years went by and she had her father’s skills in forging and the best fighting education to add. This lifestyle she had loved so long was doomed to end, at the age of twelve she found she loved other girls, trying desperately to rid herself of such thoughts. In the end she could not contain her love for the same sex and her father found her kissing another girl in the back of the stables.
Her father was outraged, finding his one and only daughter loving other women. To keep his shame secret he disowned her and cast her to live on her own. Angry and disgraced she packed up her belongings, her weapons and some food. She traveled to the capital city, having to learn to steal to feed herself and keep warm. No one would take a twelve year old child as a smith assistant.
Her anger at humanity worsened, becoming more ruthless and cunning as she lived on her own. Eventually she was taken in by a group of thieves, learning as avidly as she had done forging and swordsmanship. Her group of thieves had the misfortune to rob a wealthy house, unknowing to them had caught fire. Each tried to make their own way out, but Victoria was found by a Collegium Captain, the only one of her group to survive the fire.
He was a thief himself and realized her potential, taking her on as a ward and teaching her everything he knew. At the age of sixteen she had long since surpassed his skills, becoming a member of his Collegia only a year after he had taken her in at the age of fourteen. The members grew to admire her greatly, respecting her skills. She moved up through the ranks over time, at the age of nineteen she handled a lot of her captain’s ‘business.’
Things were doomed to change for Victoria yet again, her adoptive father and the top members of his Collegia were ambushed and killed despite their attempt to fight back. She was furious when she found out, swearing to kill every last one of them. In due time she did, coming back to the Collegia. She was made captain to her surprise, a female captain at the age of twenty.
