Raegnold has surrendered. Doesn't look like there's going to be a battle, or much fighting at all. Disappointing, but easier all around.

I'm not very good at letters.

But I do miss you quite terribly. I think of you often.

My dear General Alexston,

How good it is to hear from you, and I do hope all continues well. Such strange rumours abound, the best of which has you on the throne! Can you imagine? Other foolishness had the castle burning down, and the Swordking slaying you. I shall trust it is all the work of useless mouths unless I hear otherwise from you.

I promise I shall see you soon in Valys, and once again, you have my thanks for the command to attend court. I do so wish my hair would grow more quickly, but it is nearly to my shoulders, and when it is, I'm certain you shall tire of my presence for it will be painfully frequent.

I assure you, none of us are harmed grievously. The Valentis are alive, Drysllthen has the throne and Tyltin has sworn to him as he said he would. Apart from a few pokes to my left arm, I'm perfectly well and unslain.

I'm not entirely sure whether me being on the throne would be a good thing - I'm sure had it been actuality, the economy would have fallen, the plebs would have revolted and the sky would have fallen down, all in a day. As it stands, Drysllthen with his mercies and emotions has it, and is far better suited to it than myself.

I'm told my mother will be here within a few days.

Let's hope that hair grows a little faster.

My dear General Alexston,

I looked in the mirror today, and I could not help but think of you. Perhaps it was that lovely locket nestled at my throat, but I think more it was the fact that my hair has grown sufficiently and now touches my shoulders.

So, with that, I shall doff the black and as soon as is prudent make my way to Valys. Hopefully your mother has not yet managed to wed you in my delay. I shall be very disappointed, General, if that is the case. Still, I fear there may be a slight bit more delay as my brother-in-law is not keen on my attending court, but I have all confidence that I will prevail. After all, General Alexston commands my presence.

I am most pleased to hear your campaign went well, and all has ended as it should. I suspect you will find yourself madly busy, but I did want to send brief word while I have a quick moment.
