Bloody man can't do anything by himself. With renewed vigor in her thoughts, the Gypsy read the letter in her grasp. It detailed the fluent signs of illness in two of her eldest children she had left in care of her pirate husband. What a mistake! Wait, she caught the thought. Ex pirate husband. Dimitri was known as a womanizer, and the day she'd walked out on him had been a good day, no doubt. The hilt of her sword had been embedded so deep into his bed post that the woman he was laying with saw it come right through the wood and touch her nose. Dejah chuckled at that, remembering the petrified scream that had followed.
She wasn't a violent woman. Gods, no. Sure, she could put up a masquerade, and become violent if the situation called for it. She had her blades for a reason, after all. She'd used them to threaten many who had irked her by threatening her babies. Now they were all grown, and Dejah felt the old age coming onto her. No one fell in love with a woman at the age of thirty. Yes, thirty long years on this Earth serving her Goddesses. Not that anyone knew her preference of deities in Nharati. That'd certaintly get her in a bit of trouble.
She'd left a note, really. She was going to go treat her babies and then come right back. Maybe smack her old husband around a few. Goddess knew he was probably sleeping around with everyone on his all-female crew. She rolled her eyes at the thought, and left. She wasn't quite sure how long she was going to be gone at the time, but that's what happened.
She had quite a scuffle with Dimitri. That old dog was trying to get his gypsy temptress back. They had a fling or two, but nothing that comulated in love making at least. He couldn't get that far that time, oh no. It was after her babies were better that Dejah bid goodbye and farewell once more, and set out for the kingdom she had come to fondly call home in her short time there.
On her way there, she was met by a servant, bringing her word to meet when Princess Garnett when she got back. Well, what could that be? That was a wry little thought to herself. She could almost smell child-birthin' in the air as she headed home.
And finally, Nharati rose above her like a welcoming beacon, driving her back to her rather capricious home.
