Character Synopsis: From the Beginning
 Mereavus Varana returned from a six month sabbatical at a coastal nunnery to resume her services to the Queen as her Advisor. (Known)

 Paid her respects to the then unconscious Garnett, met Synaria, the Inquisitor and Alexston; occurrence of the ‘herds depletion’ comment. (Known)

 Had a couple of further conversations with Alexston, including an agreement to accompany one another to the upcoming ball. (Unknown, possibly rumoured, not secret)

 After a conversation with Alexston, she ran into Ilgnuit, who divulged that he wasn’t prepared to see his wife. After brandy in the parlour, she offered for him to stay at Vorserkeine that night to prepare properly for a reunion with Synaria. (Known only to herself and Ilgnuit, rumoured)

 After bathing and making himself comfortable, Ilgnuit professed his love for her, and after being rejected repeatedly became distressed, wept and got to his knees. When she attempted to console him, he kissed her, and left for the castle. (Full details known by Alexston and Emersyn, vague details known by Danele and Wyld, excessive rumours of Royal infidelity).

 Mereavus returned to the castle to tell Danele of the incident. The Queen reprimanded Ilgnuit, who threw a tantrum at being ‘told off’ in front of Mereavus. (Known to Danele and Christoph).

 Alexston ran into her the next day, finding her very upset and recounting the entire story. He became angry at Ilgnuit’s mentality, and for the time being was the only person who knew the full truth. (Unknown)

 Mereavus met Alexi Dunmir and consequently slept with her on the divan in the bathroom of the women’s wing. (Unknown to all but Alexston)

 On the initial night of the ball, after its postponing, Mereavus encountered Ilgnuit again, who had a slightly awkward moment in his trousers after seeing her in her ball gown. Synaria just so happened to walk in at that point, and all became very awkward. (Known)

 In the same evening, Mereavus ran into Alexston, and after offering her his cloak, they went for a brief walk. The beginning of more obvious attraction. He promised her a pheasant for the ball. (Unknown)

 Mereavus and Ilgnuit argued over a combination of things, from the rumours about them to Ilgnuit’s jealousy over Alexston. They departed on bad terms, but she sent him an apologetic letter that smoothed over their problems.

 The evening of the ball, Mereavus and Alexi continued their affair; though it was the last time they slept together. After chagrin at Ilgnuit asking her to dance with himself and the Royals in Synaria and Alexston’s absence, the dramatic events unfolded and she attempted to support an upset Garnett in continuing the ball after the King and Queen’s departure. It resulted in more dancing with Ilgnuit, which was the cherry on the cake for the rumours. (Known)

 Alexston’s late arrival left Ilguit abandoned on the dancefloor. After a single dance, she and the Huntsman departed to the garden, where a slightly inebriated Mereavus effectively admitted to having more than platonic feelings towards him. It resulted in a tentative holding of hands. (Unknown)

 Alexston visited Vorserkeine. Still tentative in their affections, their dynamic remained mostly platonic with some flirtation and physical contact. After a couple of such visits, she found his cottage, and he made his desire to court her apparent; cue a small, woman-initiated, chaste kiss. (Unknown)

 Mereavus found Alexston to be very upset in the chapel, and comforted him out of his initial shock of finding a body in the woods. (Rumoured)

 The arrival of Alexston’s spaniel, Fletcher, from another woman admirer caused much amusement between the two, and affection levels lifted to less chaste kisses. (Rumoured)

 Mereavus became mildly irked and worried at friendship attempts made between Alexston and Ilgnuit, knowing of jealousy on the Prince’s behalf and fearing the consequences. Ilgnuit sent her a necklace to attempt to coerce her back into contemplating his affections. The attempt failed. (Rumoured)

 An evening in Mereavus’ apartment resulted in Alexston confessing to being in love with her. She confirmed her reciprocation, and much passionate kissing ensued. She told him of her previous involvement with women, including Alexi. (Unknown)

 Alexston became concerned with resolving his emotions over his first wife, Evelyn. Mereavus comforted him on the roof, and gave him some space afterwards.

 A visit to the Infirmary found Ilgnuit suffering from headaches. She gave him a tonic and massaged his head, which seemed to be the cure. He asked her to talk with him privately, and confessed his fears to her. He fell asleep in her lap for four hours, not knowing Synaria was watching as she replaced her lap with cushions and covered him with her cloak after a dream muttering to his wife of being cold. The two women spoke quietly about a resolution to their respective problems with Ilgnuit. Mereavus assured her that her attentions were elsewhere, and for the time being, a weak peace seemed to form.  She returned to her apartment to have dinner with Alexston, who had cooked her pheasant personally. The evening culminated in them sleeping together on her rug by the fire, and afterwards, he proposed to her. She accepted. (Unknown)

 Mereavus spoke to Danele abound her impending marriage, and received the Queen’s blessing. The couple also discussed their intentions with Uhtred and gained the same response. (Known)

 She encountered Synaria talking to Alexston about the problematic Ilgnuit, insinuations of her involvement included, and witnessed his very angry rebuttal of the Princess’ commentary. This shattered any peace directed in Synaria’s direction, and after she departed, Mereavus and Alexston took out their collective rage by copulating against the parlour wall. (Unknown)

 Emersyn’s arrival gave Mereavus a new friendship outlet. She became upset with Danele after the Queen encouraged Emersyn to massage the Advisor whilst bathing, which resulted in Mereavus leaving. (Unknown)

 Emersyn spoke to Mereavus about her upset, which seemed to have smoothed over. She divulged her problems with her sexuality, and her fears of it affecting her relationship with Alexston. She resolved to suppress her desires for women as best as she could. (Unknown)

 Alexston left to inform his family of his impending wedding. Mereavus became worried after no word of his arrival reached her, but assumed him to simply be distracted with his family. She began to talk with Ulrika when her visit brought her to the castle, primarily about politics. (Known)

 During dinner with Emersyn and Danele, an unexpected visitor in the form of her ex-lover, Violet, turned up. She joined them for lunch, but departed once she recognised that Mereavus wasn’t entirely happy to see her. (Known – exact details of Mereavus and Violet’s dynamic unknown, assumed a long-standing friendship).

 Mereavus let Violet stay in her apartment, and the pair talked over their respective feelings; in Violet’s case, being in love with the Advisor and wanting her to reconcile and rekindle. In Mereavus’ case, a distaste for betraying Alexston, and a refusal to commit to any return to their love affair. The pair almost kissed on departure from the apartment, but Mereavus turned away.  Amidst the ash falling and the dramatics involved, rumour reached the castle of another body in the woods – more importantly, it was supposed that the body was Alexston’s. Emersyn and Danele met with the Advisor in the hopes of telling her the rumour and assuring her of its lack of foundation. (Known)

 Before the duo could inform her of the rumour, Violet burst in with a letter apparently from Alexston’s family asking Mereavus whether she knew of his whereabouts, as he hadn’t arrived at his destination. Devastated, the Advisor’s shriek was heard throughout the castle. Danele and Emersyn tried to console her. (Known)

 Suspicious, Mereavus demanded to know what Violet had done – to which she got the answer, ‘Something terrible’. She had her arrested, and Violet hurled abuse at her before being dragged off. (Known)

 Mereavus adopted mourning clothes and ascended to the roof. Crushed and suicidal, her instability appeared to concern Ulrika, who joined her and spoke with her. She coerced her off the roof with promise of alcohol and company. (Unknown)

 Thoroughly inebriated and sure of Alexston’s demise after a letter had arrived from him placing him in the woods at around the time the body rumours had begun, ‘the mistake’ happened. Mereavus and Ulrika slept together over the table, destroying a chair in the process. (Unknown)

 Mereavus returned to her quarters bruised and distraught. Alexston, perfectly healthy and at his family’s homestead, feeling that something was wrong, began the journey home. (Unknown)

 Alexston returned to a suicidal and psychotic fiancée. He found her on the roof, in the rain, very literally moments away from stepping to her death, and once he persuaded her that he wasn’t a hallucination, she broke down. (Known)

 Mereavus explained her distress to a very confused Alexston, and confessed to her actions with Ulrika. Naturally, he became angry, and didn’t want to hear her explanation. She left the engagement ring on the hearth, assuming their relationship to be over, and had every intention of going back to the roof to end her life. (Unknown)

 Alexston refused to let her leave, and told her that they would work it out, though he remained angry and possessively had her on her desk. Despite the relationship being re-consummated, he woke alone to a very short note informing him that she’d gone to work. (Known)

 Angry, Mereavus’ actions in the Chamber that day were characteristic of her brutality when peeved. Alexston heard of it, and began to become upset and perplexed. He caught her on her way out, and was startled by just how upset she seemed. His attempts to speak with her came back awkward, and she made it clear that she just wanted to go home, and more importantly, that she didn’t really want to be around him at present. (Known)

 Noting that he seemed further upset by her apparent anger with him, she offered to talk to him over tea despite being vehemently opposed to doing so. They found Emersyn in the atrium, who chastised Mereavus for her cold attitude towards the Huntsman. (Known)

 After Emersyn left, Mereavus began to cry, and explained that she was angry with him for not understanding what she’d been through with his apparent death, and simply being angry with her for her reaction rather than making any attempt to comfort her when she’d needed him. He began to realise the full implications of her upset during his absence. (Unknown)

 Mereavus, Emersyn, Danele and Adaleina left to stay at Vorserkeine. Whilst pampering her guests, she exchanged several raw letters with her fiancé and tried to recover alone. Eventually, there came a letter she didn’t feel she could reply to, and she made a journey back to the castle. (Known)

 After spending the night with Alexston, everything seemed to be on the way to being fixed. It is suspected that it was that evening in which she got pregnant. (Unknown)

 After a brief amount of time where everything seemed to be getting back to normal, Mereavus was startled by a scream from the chapel. She rode over at haste, given her mounted presence, and found a group of people and a very distressed Danele. She helped to officiate the birth, and afterwards found Alexston to ask his opinion of running away to get married. (Known)

 Mereavus and Alexston were married in the ruined chapel on the Vorserkeine estate, with Silas Valenti officiating and Eilella as bridesmaid. They returned the day after, admitting to their escape to nuptials. (Known)

 Three days after her wedding, she saw to Violet. Emersyn removed the woman’s tongue, and then left Mereavus and Violet together. The Advisor skinned her ex-lover and let her bleed out in her arms. She returned to Samuel to seek his support, and told him that she suspected she was with child. (Unknown)

 A Royal dinner ended with Ilgnuit’s impending doom. He attempted to persuade her one last time that she enjoyed his attentions, and on trying to physically pull her to him, found himself reeling backwards from a punch to his face. (Rumoured)

 A drunk Elwena made sexual advances on the Advisor whilst inebriated, but fortunately passed out before she had to deal with too much rejection. (Unknown)

 Mereavus decided not to attend the duel between Ilgnuit and Uhtred. Around that time, she found Garnett upset, and attempted to make her feel better with light conversation and a massage of her head, neck, shoulders, arms and lower legs. (Known)

 Mereavus and Wyld had their first genuine conversation atop the roof, largely attempting to resolve one another’s feelings over Ilgnuit’s death. (Unknown)

 Mereavus and Alexston left for the coast shortly after Ilgnuit’s funeral, the stressful circumstances making the Advisor uncharacteristically leave early. (Known)

 Returned to Nharati after two months at the coast. She discussed facades with Garnett and generally returned to supporting the residents. As situations became more and more stressful, she became progressively more ill. (Unknown)

 Verity’s appearance occurred before Alexston had properly come back from restocking Vorserkeine, and the Advisor took the tempestuous creature under her wing and promised her care after telling her that she stood to inherit nothing. (Known)

 Refused to permit Danele to take effective custody of Verity, claiming she’d
promised her a home and had the responsibility to caring for her. (Unknown)

 Mereavus confronted Leon after his brawl with Verity, and warned him off seeing her again. The next day, she found them talking in the stables, and lost her temper entirely. After Verity exploded at both Alexston and Garnett, she backhanded the girl and packed her off to a slum orphanage with promise of ripping her title from her. (Known)

 Three weeks after sending Verity away, Mereavus recalled her home. So far, the time away seems to have done the girl some good. (Known)

 Mereavus took several feinting spells and falls that she didn’t tell anyone about. As the summer heat and general stress got more and more bothersome, she was found by Emersyn and Danele to be having an ‘episode’. She feinted not long after, and the doctor found evidence of her falls. She was confined to bedrest with a very worried Emersyn. (Known)

Recent Events


 After Danele’s departure, Alexston built a bed-carriage and stole his wife away to the coast. He took with him Osanna and Verity. (Known)
 Mereavus gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the early hours of sunlight. She stopped breathing briefly, and was revived by her husband. The child has been named William Archer Vorserkeine-Alexston. (Known selectively)

- Talking with Alexston led to an argument, which revealed that Alexston knew about what had happened to Violet, implicating Morcant as the person to tell him. The argument escalated as she got angry about it, and concluded with a breakdown and reconciliation. (Unknown)
