Mari Direnni

- Arrived in the Valenti camp. Immediately manipulated a stableboy into becoming her sparring partner/punching bag. [Rumored]

- Was caught red-handed swinging a blade at above-mentioned stableboy by Stephen. The servant fled, fearing punishment, leaving Stephen and Mari alone together... While Stephen tried valiantly to explain the virtues of ladylike manners to the girl, she appeared impervious to the good advice and retaliated with more bad behavior-- openly mocking, and the propositioning the man (... which he declined, for obvious reasons). - Was having a drunken evening in the garden when William came upon her. After some casual banter, she agreed to head back to his camp with him, where they drank a great deal more. Mari seems to have found a friend in the General, who revealed during conversation that he was aware of her infamous reputation, but refrained from trying to make her realize the error of her ways. They commiserated over parental pressures to marry and behave themselves, and Will agreed to help her sharpen her skills with a blade in secret. - fell off her horse and sustained a significant injury to one shoulder. Later ran into Stephen in the infirmary while said wound was being tended to. He agreed to escort her to her room, where she proceeded to flash and grope the poor man. He removed her bodily from himself, and wrapped her in a blanket before taking his leave. - attended the party briefly at William's request, met Drysllthen, further harassed Stephen. While she intended to pop the question to William ("will you take me to Valys?" ... not that OTHER one!), she had her evening cut short by the bleeding gash in her shoulder, which stained her dress. She fled the scene to have the wound tended to. [known, save the real reasons behind her attendance and departure]

- sought William out to ask him to take her along with him on the march to Valys. He refused outright, and unexpectedly turned into one of 'those' nobles Mari dislikes so profoundly with his reprimands. She told him to forget it, but he immediately went to Drysllthen, which resulted in the issue of a decree that she be arrested on sight. - was apprehended some few weeks into the march, and brought to Drysllthen. Mari wholly expected another lecture and subsequent punishment and was surprised when Drysllthen offered to revisit her position after Valwyn was secured in return for her cooperation in the meantime. She agreed readily to this proposition, and turned in her weapons. [rumored]

- apparently intrigued the king while relinquishing her personal arsenal (a considerably large collection of knives, poisons, etc), and in further discussion, Drysllthen implied that he meant to employ her as an assassin. She was obviously pleased by this turn of events and took the opportunity to show Drysllthen some of her other 'talents'... ahem. [unknown]

- Had a few more discussions/molestations with Drysllthen regarding her prospective position within the court. Has been behaving herself (mostly) and doing her own training at night to avoid being seen. [unknown]

- Questioned the captured would-be assassin from Valwyn-- an event which was attended by both Drysllthen and Mereavus. After some prodding with a hot poker from our lovely heroine, the assassin spilled the beans, and had his throat slit as a reward-- Mari's first murder (... in a line of many, it can be assumed). Went to the baths with Drysllthen and distracted herself with ale and more molesting. [unknown]

- Met the castle's new master at arms, Olyx, in the yard. Bantered with him a little (mostly inappropriately) and failed to scare the man off-- earning him brownie points in her books. Later tempted him to the roof for some ale and some more chatting. Seems Mari's made another friend! Awwwwr. [rumored]

- Was caught by Olyx in the yard at night practicing archery. A friendly bet left the arms' master in debt one as yet unnamed favor to the girl. He offered to be her sparring partner, but in light of her turning over a new ladylike leaf (in the public eye, anyway), she thought better of creating more witnesses to her violent leanings and declined the offer. - Was presumably at the coronation and the ball that followed. Poked fun at the masked chancellor's apparent obsessive staring at Diana Wintermore throughout the party. [rumored]

- Summoned to the king's study and learned of another attempt on the Drysllthen's life (a poisoning) on the eve of the coronation. Was asked to investigate this issue further. As usual, king and jerk-turned-superspy-assassin encountered great difficulty keeping it in their pants, and so they didn't. [unknown]

- Sent by Drysllthen to locate Quess, Naiia and Maeryn and found them being attacked by the undead in a cave. Sent word back to the castle and joined the fray to help the girls. They were all eventually rescued, but Mari sustained a few cracked ribs and a variety of bruises in the process. [known]

- Was generally a huge pain in the ass for the healers, refusing to take it easy or stay abed. Reinjured herself several times. [known] Got bored and planted a big ol' smooch on Aerinne and was rewarded with a punch in the face for her efforts, which she finds hilarious. [rumored] Attempted to get to better know the healer Marianna as per Drysllthen's instruction. [unknown]

- Eventually recovered and heard word of a commotion at the gate. Went down to see what all the fuss was about, and came upon Ioan and an old, mostly hysterical woman who was on about the undead, and a lair, and a cure for the creatures' bite. Mari eventually piped up to suggest that they let the crone in, intending to question her, when Garnett appeared. The old woman transformed into Synaria and Garnett had her taken by the guards to be imprisoned. [known]

- Summoned, along with Ioan, by Drysllthen shortly after Synaria's capture, recounted the story to him and was sent to the tower to guard the prisoner personally. [rumored]

- Stood guard until she was nearly delirious with exhaustion, when Drysllthen came to visit and assigned another guard relieve her for a few hours' rest. The pair spent a few hours in one of the rooms in the tower, presumably discussing the prisoner...? Yeah, right. [rumored]

- Returned to the castle upon Synaria's execution. [known]
