Garnett and King Gregor pause at the entrance to have shoes removed. Music changes to flute, audience rises with Garnett's entrance.
Priest opens the ceremony and audience is seated - announces the wedding and asks for objections, prays (in the old tongue), and asks who brings the woman to be wed (phrasing?)
King Gregor answers and presents Garnett to Uhtred
Uhtred and Garnett approach the altar and kneel.
Priest speaks on the joining of two people and two lands and prompts for vows (Uhtred first):
I, (name) take thee, (name) to be my wedded (husband/wife),
to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,
in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish, 'til death do us part,
according to God's holy ordinance;
thereto I plight thee my troth.
Priest prompts for the exchange of items:
Created in fire and with my blood, I give you this (item) as a symbol of my vow.
Priest blesses the marriage and asks them to rise, prompts to kiss the bride.
Uhtred & Garn do so
Priest presents them to the audience.
