Description:

Something about this one's appearance screeches " cretin." Bedecked in an overpowering and offensive ensign-red and littered with scrappy scars, he was a weaselish brute out-of-place in the uniform of the Esdale honour-guard. Long greasy locks and pallid skin make him seem all the more like a tavern cutthroat poorly cast as a decorated warrior. He was lewdly over-armed, with perverse, jagged, muderous blades and a sword tastelessly adorned with frivolous fake jewels. His very presence would likely offend those with a strong sense of honour or conviction, and simply mortify those of noble birth.


Character Background:

Skallagrim, given another life and another set of chances, might have ended up a well-to-do, virtuous, generous individual with a sense of loyalty and propriety. As it happens, he is none of these things. Certainly no alternate timeline would make him handsome, the nebbish and greasy-looking fellow a sight for alleyways and whorehouse stoops rather than the service of an honour guard.

He possessed a moral character befitting his appearance, earned in hard years of destitution and bad living. Too obnoxious for position in any gang or family, and too perverse and murderous to be wed to even the most careless father's daughter, he skulked, intimidated and murdered through life. These were his sole talents, and simultaneously his interests, with the addition of lecherous intentions toward women (any women).

Through the extreme thinning of Raegnold's ranks he somehow rose to a senior Captain in the Esdale honour guard, and was horribly, shabbily out of place. Now, with the exile of his former master, his loyalties lie with anyone who will first spare his life, and second, grant him more money, access to women, and the opportunity to shed blood.
