Rudely cropped, wheat colored, curls, framed a pale, somewhat homely face. Not exactly what the fine portraits mother-dearest commissioned, portrayed. She looked awkward in pink velvet. No, not awkward so much as miserable. Like a pig in a wig. What was more, the girl wasn't exactly the most slender of creatures, broad shouldered, broad hipped and rather soft to boot. She didn't look like a princess, not even a former one.
Character Background:
The elder of the two former princesses, Lark was, quite the opposite of the slender, dark haired, dark eyed, little bird her name suggested. No, 'much too tall' as her mother said and well, perhaps a little bit....stout. Big boned and just a shade too much good living put her firmly in the realm of 'homely' by courtly standards.
Being one of the middle children of Raegnold's brood, offered many an opportunity to...well, run wild. Of course she'd gone through all the same tutors and scholars as her siblings, but who really kept her in line? So the dancing shoes tended to come off, riding gear was a sort of standard and the occasional, well placed comment, tended to inspire a full throated sort of laugh. Boyish and rather friendly, the good Princess Lark tended to be more of a drinking buddy than a marriage prospect. She would, however, try anything once, as for all her light heartedness, she was not, at all, in the dark about her particular situation. Their particular situation. She would have made a good man, that Lark, a very good man indeed.
