Full Character Name: Arela Farquahar
Furcadia Name: Arela
Desired Role: Envoy of Leugeilean. Garnett's niece and Drysllthen's cousin.
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Height: 5’4”
Build: Rather average in weight. Healthy.
Eye Color: Pale green
Hair Color: Red
Description: Thin curls are never left hanging over freckled shoulders, neatly pulled up and pinned against her scalp in fashionable hairdos, only allowing a few, stray curls to grace the right side of her face. With age came modesty, complimenting her curves in layers and pale shades of blue but never distracting anyone enough to look away from her face, features still as pretty as ever but much older and refined. Her mourning had passed but the loss lingered in her heart, leaving her weary and heavy with thought. Feisty as her hair is red Arela still possesses a wit and a harsh tongue and is never afraid to use either, quick to anger and even faster to retaliate with a cold remark.
Character Background:
Born in Leugeilean Arela was the only daughter of Gregor II and his wife, second oldest to their first born son with two boys following after her birth. Born as a princess made her quite the prize to pine over. However, her parents had other plans for their daughter. At the tender age of ten she was arranged to wed Thaniel Kavanagh, a prince in Geldenland, hoping to create and maintain a bridge of peace between the two countries with their wedding. It became a well known fact in the years Arela grew from child to woman that she was bitter with distaste at the arrangement and although she never spoke of her dislike publicly she was a girl who knew how to use body language to speak. Her quick temper and tongue lashings left others stung by her presence, her wedded husband often times the victim to her cruel personality.
Before their marriage Thaniel grew sick, often feeling too weary and ill to do much. After they were married Arela slowly grew to appreciate the man and even had a son, Braedon Kavanagh, with him. In the public eye she was a horrid woman who was quick to lash out but in private she was gentle, a kind soul to her ill husband. Arela’s pregnancy and their child’s birth was the peak of Thaniel’s health before he steadily began to decline and later died some years later. Arela found herself unable to look at her husband’s body after he died and reclaimed her family’s name, no longer willing to call herself by her husband’s. Some seemed to understand but others took this as a sign of guilt from the princess who had been so eager to not marry the prince.
Rumors spread like wild fire that it was she who killed her husband, the reason for his sickness and the sudden change in his health after their child’s birth. These accusations, both public and spoken in private, left a heavy weight on Arela’s shoulders. Although aware of her dark personality and quick temper she did not like being perceived as a killer. When Drysllthen took the throne in Nharati Arela was quick to leave Geldenland to return to Leugeilean and made her way to Nharati to congratulate the King.
