Description:
Armed with a brilliant smile and serene blue eyes, what might have been arrogance on others melted into confidence. The influence of his father fiercened his mother's delicate traits in his face, freckles inevitably littering his pronounced cheekbones and his nose slightly hooked. Red hair had, of course, proven inescapable, though age had deepened it to nearly auburn. An easy manner honed into impeccable charm dimmed both the foreboding of his size, for the broad built Prince towered above most men, and the threat of the plain nicked longsword at his hip. Silk and velvet swathing an iron core.

Character Background:
Drysllthen is the younger of the twins born to Crown Prince Uhtred and his wife Garnett before the prince's murder. Common wisdom has it that the elder twin died in infancy, and other than those directly involved in the happenstance with Uhtred the younger, Dryllsthen is the only one that knows the true story.

After her husband's death, Garnett escaped to Ygriss with Drysllthen and it was there she remarried and raised him until he was eight years old. Due to the serious unrest in Nharati and threats upon his life, she sent the boy to her family in Leugeilean where he lived for six years with many of his own sworn men accompanying him as well as Nharati tutors. The young princeling received the best education his mother and her family could procure for him. With scarce a spare moment, he was taught of law, politics, warfare, history, and languages as well as drilled in martial skills.

At fourteen, tall and lanky, he returned home to his mother and his half-siblings, nearly a man grown, although the learning continued voraciously. A bare year after his return, his mother's husband, the Ealdorman of Ygriss, met his death in an unfortunate hunting accident. With the Ealdormen's own sons too young to take charge, Drysllthen slid into the position, securing Thegns to him before anyone realized he had no intention of relinquishing it to its proper heir when the time came.

Constant border incursions by Srylabat to both Ygriss and Pfoergarth forced an alliance between the two counties, and when Drysllthen's strategy to throw them back proved successful, few even recalled that the Prince was not the proper Ealdorman, his heritage and triumphs turning him into something of a folk hero. The alliance was made permanent, signified by Drysllthen's marriage to Gerlinde, the daughter of Pfoergarth's Ealdorman.

It was a short lived tulmultuous relationship, and though Gerlinde conceived quickly, bearing a child proved too much for her. Disappointment reigned for the child was a girl, and she, dubbed Saeryll by Drysllthen, was left mainly to the care of her nurse and his mother and half-sisters. Drysllthen officially took up the title of Prince once more and began to prepare for a push. Walls were errected, weapons built, men trained, crops grown in surplus and stored in guarded compounds.

With an eye on trade and need for more military support to pursue his eventual claim, he turned west toward heavily-guarded Samargh to pursue alliance. It was attained more easily than anticipated, with only one distasteful condition (for the last such had been unpleasant): he was to wed the eldest daughter, Roselyn. (Still working on that relationship)

Wedded, he secured the alliance, the military forces of the three counties combining as well as men sworn to Drysllthen alone, ousted from Dulfwyn. They began to cleave away portions of that capital county with an eye always toward the ultimate goal of the throne.
